Automatic lessons take the clutch and gears out of the picture, so your learning goes into the skills that keep you safe.
No clutch and no gears, so you can focus on observation, planning and other traffic from your very first lesson.
No stalling at junctions, hill starts or in queues. That takes a lot of pressure off, especially for nervous learners.
Electric cars and most hybrids are automatic, so an automatic licence fits the cars you are likely to drive next.
Pass in an automatic and your licence covers automatic cars only. Want manual later? You can upgrade with a manual test, with no new theory test.

Lessons are calm, clear and planned around you. We start where you are, whether you have never sat behind the wheel or your test is coming up soon, and build skills step by step, from beginner to test ready, on the roads you will really drive.
Learning to drive

Lessons are £35 an hour with a 2 hour minimum: 2 hours £70, 3 hours £105, 4 hours £140, and a 10 hour block booked ahead is £350. Mock tests, test preparation, intensive courses and refresher lessons are the same £35 an hour, minimum 2 hours. On test day the car is £160, and a 2 hour revision lesson before the test is charged at the hourly rate (£70).
You can move or cancel a lesson free of charge up to 48 hours before it starts. A lesson cancelled or moved with less than 48 hours notice is charged in full, unless it was something you could not help, such as sudden illness or an emergency.
Hendon (NW4) and Mill Hill (NW7), across North West London and surrounding areas. Lessons start and finish at your home, work, school or college, or at a station meeting point: Hendon Central Station, Mill Hill East, Mill Hill Broadway, Golders Green, Brent Cross.
No. If you pass your test in an automatic car, your full licence lets you drive automatic cars only. A pass in a manual car lets you drive both.
Yes. Lessons are calm and go at your pace. Your first lesson can start on quieter roads, with clear explanations before anything new, and you never have to do something you do not feel ready for. Automatic cars also take away stalling, a common worry.
Book it yourself on GOV.UK once you have passed your theory test. You need your driving licence number and a debit or credit card. Since 12 May 2026 only the learner can book, change, cancel or swap a car test: instructors are not allowed to do it for you.
Your provisional driving licence, glasses or contact lenses if you need them to read a number plate from 20 metres, and comfortable shoes that let you feel the pedals.
